Difference between high-quality and low-quality air filters
High quality air filter is made by quality raw materials through suitable production process as per the standard requirements. Each component is reasonably designed and assembled rigorously, featuring reliable performance. Filter quality cannot be judged simply through the appearance, weight and using life, the following aspects shall also be considered:
High quality air filter uses high quality wood pulp paper as filtration materials, which features low resistance, high filtration precision, good anti-water performance, and high dust capacity. While poor-quality air filter uses wood pulp paper with low resin content or poor cotton pulp paper, thus coarse impurity particles can pass through the filter and enter engine; some poor quality filtration paper and element even contain talcum powder or starch and can directly damage the engine.

High-quality air filter adopts special adhesive to secure the filter paper and end cover and has good sealing capability; while poor-quality air filter usually uses inferior adhesive or Sodium silicate which has poor sealing capability; some poor adhesive even has pore, which can easily fall off after vibration, and the fallen impurities can enter the engine, other impurities can also enter the engine through the aperture between the filter paper and end cover.

High-quality air filters use thicker mesh materials, which has smooth surface, good rust-resistance, and good toughness. While poor-quality air filters use thin mesh materials, which has poor anti-rust performance and can be easily deformed or fractured.
High-quality air filters use thick iron plates, which have surface smooth, good rust-proof performance, and are not easily distorted. While poor-quality air filters use thin metal plates or abandoned packaging materials, which can be easily deformed after maintenance and cleaning, and directly affects the filter’s sealing capability.
The safety element of high-quality air filter adopts nonwoven materials of good air permeability and filtration precision. While the poor-quality air filter adopts nonwoven materials of excessively high or low air permeability, poor filtration precision or thin non-woven materials which can increase resistance or let particle impurities in the air directly enter into the engine.
The seal gaskets of high-quality filters use foam materials of good anti-aging performance which has good recovery performance, and the seal ring is firmly adhesive with the end cover. Poor-quality filters use less inferior materials, which can cause loose adhesion, easy fall off and has poor recovery, and the sealing capability will be greatly reduced after maintenance and impurities can enter the engine easily.
